# Merlin Wizard Privacy Policy

## 1. Overview

Merlin Wizard is the configured instance of the **MEE6** bot service used within the Merlin Chain Discord community server. The bot service is developed, hosted, and operated by **MEE6** (the "Service Provider"). Merlin Chain has configured and enabled MEE6 within its Discord server for community management and engagement purposes.

This Privacy Policy explains how the use of MEE6 in the Merlin Chain Discord server affects your data, and describes Merlin Chain's role and responsibilities as the server operator.

## 2. Bot Operator vs. Server Operator

It is important to distinguish between two parties:

* **MEE6 (the Service Provider)**: The entity that develops, hosts, and operates the MEE6 bot platform. MEE6 is responsible for the underlying data processing infrastructure, data storage, and the bot's core functionality. **MEE6's own Privacy Policy and Terms of Service** govern how the platform handles data at the service level.
* **Merlin Chain (the Server Operator)**: The entity that has installed and configured MEE6 within the Merlin Chain Discord server. Merlin Chain determines which MEE6 features are enabled, which channels the bot operates in, and how moderation and engagement settings are configured.

## 3. Data the Bot Accesses

When MEE6 is active in the Merlin Chain Discord server, it may access data through Discord's API, as permitted by the permissions and privileged intents granted to the bot. This may include:

### 3.1 Server Configuration Data

* Server name, ID, and settings
* Channel names and structures
* Role names and hierarchies

### 3.2 Member Data

* Discord user ID, username, and avatar
* Server-specific nickname
* Join date
* Role assignments

### 3.3 Message Data (Message Content Intent)

* Message content in channels where the bot has read access
* Message metadata (timestamp, author, channel)

### 3.4 Presence Data (Presence Intent)

* Online status and activity indicators

## 4. How Data Is Used

As the server operator, Merlin Chain has configured MEE6 to provide the following features. Each feature uses data as described:

| Leaderboards         | Username, XP totals       | Display top contributors in the community                         |
| Custom commands      | Message content           | Respond to community-defined triggers (`!gas`, `!testnet-faucet`) |
| Role management      | Member roles, join date   | Auto-assign roles based on criteria                               |

The specific features and their configurations may be adjusted by server moderators at any time.

## 5. Data Storage & Processing

* **Data processing and storage is handled by MEE6's infrastructure**, not by Merlin Chain. Merlin Chain does not directly collect, store, or host any member data through the bot.
* For details on how MEE6 stores, secures, and retains data, refer to MEE6's Privacy Policy (see Section 9).
* Merlin Chain does not export, download, or transfer bot data to any external systems.

## 6. Data Sharing

* Merlin Chain does not share any data obtained through the bot with third parties.
* Aggregated, anonymized statistics (e.g., member count, leaderboard rankings) may be displayed in public server channels.

## 7. User Rights

As a member of the Merlin Chain Discord server, you have the right to:

* **Understand what features are active**: Contact a server moderator to ask which MEE6 features are currently enabled and how they affect your data.
* **Opt out of XP tracking**: Contact a server moderator to be excluded from the XP and leveling system.
* **Data deletion**: Data held by MEE6 is subject to MEE6's own retention policies. To request deletion of your data, contact both a server moderator and MEE6 directly. Refer to MEE6's Privacy Policy for their data retention and deletion practices.
* **Full data transparency**: For complete details on data handling at the platform level, refer to MEE6's Privacy Policy and Discord's Privacy Policy.

## 8. Children's Privacy

Merlin Chain does not knowingly permit the collection or processing of data from individuals who do not meet Discord's minimum age requirements. Age requirements vary by jurisdiction; refer to the "Age requirements and responsibility of parents and legal guardians" section of Discord's Terms of Service (see Section 9) for details applicable to your country.
